Wilma Ruth Hagquist of Holiday Island, Ark., was born March 14, 1924 in Glendive, Montana. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 14, 2020.
She is survived by two daughters, Marsha Kay Colwell of Holiday Island, Mona Lou Sinclair and husband, Terry, of Haltom City, Texas.
She is also survived by granddaughters; Cristi Shae Duea and husband, Brad; Amy Sinclair Dusatko and husband, Aaron; Candice Renae Scott and husband, Ty; and great grandchildren Braden and Slater Duea; Ari and Ava Dusatko; and numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents William Edward and Mary Katheryn Polivka; husband William Elvin Hagquist; sister Irene Donovan; brother John Polivka; brother Robert Polivka; and sister KAnn Kron.
After graduation, she contributed to the WW2 war effort as a welder at the Swan Island Shipyards in Portland, Oregon. At the end of WW2 she married William Hagquist of Knappa, Oregon. After several years, she returned to her hometown, Glendive, Montana, with her husband and two children.
While in Glendive, she worked in various jobs at Montgomery Ward and the local bank. After moving to Fort Worth, Texas, in 1964, she worked for Montgomery Ward as the invoice records supervisor.
After retirement in 1995, she and her husband, Bill, settled in Holiday Island, Ark. Wilma and Bill, with three other couples, helped with the building of Holiday Island Baptist Church.
Wilma, a member of the Eureka Springs Hospital Guild, became manager of the Purple House Thrift Shop, which gave financial support for the hospital and various needs of the community.
Wilma was a strong believer in Christ.
