Brian Martin, based here in Eureka, performs what he calls Front Porch Soul a lovely mix of old time country blues and mountain folk music sprinkled with funk, gospel and Southern soul. With a voice like river rocks, Martin adds acoustic guitar that is hauntingly beautiful to create his unique sound. He released a solo debut album in 2011 titled “No Rider” and has toured the region tirelessly perfecting his craft.
In addition to his solo career, Martin is co-founder of Sad Daddy, a well-known folk swing band that has released two albums to critical acclaim. The original song-writing of Sad Daddy, by Martin, Melissa Carper and Joe Sundell, is a big part of the band’s success.
On Thursday at 6 p.m. Martin will perform at Gravel Bar for their grand opening celebration. Located at Wanderoo Lodge, Gravel Bar is Eureka’s newest hotspot, with lots of live music and mouth watering menu selections.
