They have been dubbed sophisticated folk rockers and the name holds true. Violet and the Undercurrents showcase the amazing songwriting and vocal talents of Violet Vander Haar. She was raised near the Missouri River and credits her riverboat captain father and flowing waters as her inspiration. Listening to recently released album Waves, one can hear that inspiration in the haunting swirls and eddies of the music. Phylshawn Johnson, Linda Bott and Lizzy Weiland are the musicians providing that undercurrent, creating a sound that beckons you to join them at the river.
