If the sweet sound of banjo and fiddle strings making music together is right up your alley, venture down to Chelsea’s, slightly off-center at 10 Mountain Street, to hear Drifters Mile playing Ozark style bluegrass. This band from Springfield started in 2009 as a band called Deep Fried Squirrel, grew to a full GrassRock band and then pared back down to the five-piece string outfit that they are today. This combo can harmonize vocals as well as strings and the music will make you want to kick off your shoes and dance. In fact, listening to these pickers brings to mind the square in Mt. View, Ark., where around dusk the strings came to life and the ladies got up to dance. Don’t miss this down-home sound on Friday night at 9:30 p.m.
