Three businesses, one stop, Celestial Windz Harmonic Bizaar is back

Celestial Windz Harmonic Bizaar on Hwy. 23 South is back times three. In addition to selling tuned musical wind chimes curated by Ranaga Farbiarz, the store is offering body care products made by Ranaga’s partner, Loudy Bousman, and CBD American Shaman products, which Ranaga and Loudy said are the best CBD products available.

Celestial Windz Harmonic Bizaar was a roadside attraction whose 37-ft.-tall Celestial Wind Carillon made the Guinness Book of World Records for being the world’s largest tuned musical wind chime. The chime was hung in a tree in 2004 and a deck built around it.

“I would get a lot of people stopping to ring the chime, but it really didn’t help get people in the building,” Ranaga, who moved to Eureka Springs in 1977, said. “It kind of amazed me. We were trying to make the shop into an attraction so people would come in and look at our other offerings. In truth, there was not enough of a variety of things people wanted. They were really interested in the big chime, but that was about it. So, I kept traveling and doing renaissance fairs where I sold musical wind chimes, musical bells and bell mobiles.”

In 2015, the tree that held up the Celestial Wind Carillon died and the wind chime was moved inside the shop into a tower specially constructed for it.

Loudy operates Evening Shade Farms Organic Farm to Skin Body Care Products, which was started by her mother in Osceola, Mo., where the family has an organic farm.

“I met Loudy a year ago at the Hillberry Music Festival in Eureka Springs,” Ranaga said. “I was completely smitten by her. We have been inseparable ever since. Her mother started Evening Shade Farms forty years ago. The company manufacturers more than forty varieties of organic farm-to-skin body care products made with goat milk and other sourced non-GMO ingredients that are good for the skin and good for the planet. There are no harsh chemicals in any of her products. It is just really a phenomenal line of skin and body care. After we met, we decided to see what we could do to join forces and come up with something truly unique.”

Then Loudy introduced Ranaga to Vince Sanders, the founder of CBD American Shaman, based in Kansas City, Mo. After their initial meeting, Ranaga said he felt like he had just sat down with Steve Jobs in 1985.

“He is brilliant in his field, which is on the cusp of a hemp revolution due to provisions in the proposed 2018 Farm Bill,” Ranaga said. “CBD American Shaman is the only patented water-soluble CBD. With other CBD oil products, you are only getting ten percent of the active ingredient, CBD (cannabidiol), because your body has to break down the carriers that deliver the CBD. With water-soluble CBD, you get 90 to 100 percent bioavailability. Thousands of personal testimonials provide anecdotal evidence that CBD may be helpful in relieving stress, managing pain and treating a vast number of medical conditions.”

Ranaga said being able to offer CBD American Shaman was one of the main reasons to reopen the shop and get involved in a whole new venture at this point in his life.

“That really was the impetus of resurrecting the Harmonic Bizaar,” Ranaga said. “CBD is the driving force behind it. I should be slowing down and instead am doing the exact opposite. CBD helps out a lot of people. There is a lot of disinformation out there about CBD. We can bring them the real information and the best product. It is a mission for us, as well as a business. The three businesses, together, form a synergy that goes beyond any individual one.”

Ranaga said they have invested in newspaper and billboard advertising to help get people into the shop. “People are also liking the free samples of CBD and the 100 percent money back guarantee on all products,” he said.

Will CBD, which is derived from industrial hemp, still be needed after medical marijuana is available in Arkansas?

“Yes,” Ranaga said. “A lot of people don’t want to have anything to do with THC, the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana that gets you high,” Ranaga said. “Dachshunds and Great Danes are both dogs, but they are different dogs. Hemp and marijuana look alike, but CBD oil made from hemp has virtually no THC, so you can get the medicinal benefit of the hemp plant without the psychoactive high. Everyone can take CBD: adults, children, dogs, cats and other pets. Plus, you don’t need a license or a medical card because it is legal in all fifty states.”

The shop reopened in August, with hours 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week throughout the tourist season, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday-Saturday during the off-season. It is always open by appointment. Ranaga and Loudy are also in the process of expanding into Fayetteville by opening a CBD American Shaman store and Kava Bar in the Metro Complex on Spring St. near the Walton Art Center.

Ranaga’s daughter, Celest, is also working at the new shop in Eureka and plans to take over the business in the future. “It is a multi-generational business,” Ranaga said.
