Jeff Rolfzen and Rocky Steen-Rolfzen are a husband and wife songwriting team coming to Brews this weekend. They call themselves The Lark and the Loon, named for the state birds of Montana and Minnesota. Rocky, the lark from Montana, has a sweet yet powerful voice. Jeff, being from Minnesota, is the loon and has been honing guitar skills since he was 17. The couple have had success with release of folk album Songbirds and Fog recorded right here in their Eureka Springs home. Roots journal No Depression said of them “…these young people have brought the truth in authentic Folk music back from the dead.” The acoustic sound and clever songwriting are brought to life with the lark’s vocals. Having just completed a long tour, the couple will play an intimate show at Brews Friday at 7 p.m.
