Editor,

Summer Diversity 2022 has come and gone. Even with the heat wave there was a great turn out around town. The heat didn’t keep people away from the park, shopping, dining or dancing the night away at all of the fabulous venues.

I thank all the sponsors, discount shopping participants, the City of Eureka Springs, CAPC, Auditorium staff, the Independent newspaper, and The Gayly. I give a huge shout out to The Young Americans performing arts nonprofit organization who volunteered in the park and the Auditorium, and to The New Orleans Hotel, Palace Hotel, Alpine Lodge, and Ambassador Car Service who took great care of performers and guest speakers.

Thank you to Mr. Zeek Taylor for officiating the “I got married in Eureka Springs” event in the park, Ellen’s Patisserie for the wedding cupcakes, and Eureka & Company for flowers in the entertainers’ rooms and flowers for those who were married in the park.

Thanks to Sandy Martin, Julie Ann Capps and Eureka My Office for posters, flyers and booklets.

Our headliners were comedienne Julie Goldman and her sidekick, Brandy Howard, who brought their “Gay Dumb Politics” show and podcast to Eureka Springs. This was the first time they have ever done a podcast outside of their studio in Los Angeles and they focused, not only on national politics, but spoke about Eureka Springs. Eureka’s own Harrie Farrow was part of the podcast that will air on Tuesday, August 9 and available anywhere you listen to podcasts.

Planning for Fall Diversity has been in the works since May and the headliner will be announced soon.

Diversity Weekends belong to this great community of Eureka Springs.
