Season of giving

Editor,

On December 5th I drove my disabled daughter to SunFest grocery store to do her monthly shopping. In an effort not to hover, I waited in the car for her.

At about 2:30 p.m. she brought her cart to the car and I opened the trunk. As she was loading up her purchases the cashier came out to us and handed my daughter several more bags.

My daughter asked her if she had forgotten them and the cashier said no, that the people behind her in the check out line had paid for the items she could not afford and to tell her Merry Christmas.

My daughter and I were stunned but more than that we were deeply touched and we want to say thank you to these anonymous givers.
