Editor,

The community social observer and temperature-taker (SOTT) has detected a search underway for a donor to donate a Harley motorcycle to the “Harley Sacrificial Festival (HSF).”

The donated bike will be burned at the first annual event, HSF 1, invoking the gods who govern transportation to smile upon our community as we recover from another noisy, traffic squeezed weekend of Bikes, Blues and Bar B-Q.

When the donation finally occurs, as I’m sure it will, soon, the date for the community ceremony, or celebration if you prefer, will be announced.

After the ceremonial burning of the donated bike, any remains will be ceremonially spread down and up Leatherwood Hill from Bombadil’s to Angler’s restaurants.

Participants will be responsible for their own beverage of choice at the event.

Please try to keep your dogs on a leash.

Reminder: Children love fire and are attracted to flames, but the black, greasy smoke from a burning bike may be extremely toxic, so make sure your child maintains a safe distance from the funeral pyre itself.

Seniors welcome.
