Robert Wayne Moon was born Jan. 21, 1931, son of James Madison Moon and Effie Jane (Baker) Moon. He passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, June 29, 2018 at age 87.
He served in the United States Army from 1951 until 1953 during the Korean War. He was a skilled carpenter throughout his life. He attended Beaver Lake Baptist Church for 45 plus years. He loved playing his guitar and singing.
On March 27, 1954 he was united in marriage to June Sybleleen (Harley) Moon who survives him. He is survived by his sons, Jerry Moon and wife, Debbie; Alan Moon and wife, Patty; daughters, Joy Amann and husband, Butch, Jane Foster and Paula Moon; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Wanda Sellars, Joyce Catron, Erma Helms and her husband, Bob, Bonnie Sheppard, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Paul Moon; sisters Edith Pollock, Carolyn Mahurin, Becky Skidmore and Mildred Kavanagh.
Funeral service was July 3, 2018 at the Beaver Lake Baptist Church in Eureka Springs with Pastor Mike Mercer officiating. Interment followed at the Reddick Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
