Director Justin Huss told Parks commissioners last week that the recent council meeting had been “interesting.” He said there had been “emotional but civil” discourse regarding the downhill trails at LLCP, and he appreciated comments in support of the project while disagreeing with comments regarding inappropriate use of the LLCP tax revenue. He said Parks had done due diligence throughout the project, and contrary to dire predictions, no bulldozers appeared during the process.
He said there had been a mudslide at Harmon Park, and he would seek locally milled stone for a drystack wall repair.
- Cabin #3 at LLCP suffered a sewer line incident, and the slab must be opened for repair. The cabin will have to be closed for at least three weeks.
- Gardener Tom Beckindorf resigned, and Huss thanked him for his good work.
- The ramp to the campsite being made compatible to Americans with Disabilities standards is almost complete.
Weekends have been busy and Huss said there were waiting lines to get a swing at the playground, and at times all rental boats were out.
- Through January and February 2017, LLCP had revenues of $2695, and this year for the same period income is $12,394.
