Nancy Carolyn Weaver March 19, 1935 – July 16, 2018

Nancy Carolyn Weaver of Holiday Island, Ark., was born March 19, 1935 in Higginson, Ark., to Lee and Martha (Walker) Purcell. She departed this life on Monday, July 16, 2018 in Holiday Island, Arkansas at age 83.

Nancy was an elementary school teacher; co-founder of Hickory Stick golf clubs which later contributed to the beginning of Callaway golf clubs; she designed and manufactured Ro-Bears, a line of designer Teddy Bears, Tom Selleck being the most well-known purchaser; and she was a B & B and gift shop owner.

Nancy was President of the Christian Women’s Club, E.S. Dinner Club, and a member of E.S. Heirloom Doll Club, Garden Club, Bed and Breakfast Association and Hospital Guild. 

She was also a member of First Christian Church in Eureka Springs, where she was a gifted singer and leader in various activities in the church. 

In 1988 she was united in marriage with Bill Weaver who survives her of the home. She is also survived by two daughters, Becky Knox and husband, Fred, of Palo Alto, Calif.; Karen Moses and husband, Greg, of Sunnyvale, Calif.; one sister, LaDonna Bottomley and husband, Ray, of Eureka Springs; six grandchildren, one great granddaughter, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Nancy was loved by all and will be greatly missed by family and friends.

She was preceded in death, by her parents, one brother, Harry Purcell, and one daughter Billie John, and by Paul Sanders, her first husband of 27 years.
