‘Tis the season! Eurekans know how to celebrate and Saturday night is all the better for it. The Night of Merry Making downtown culminates with the annual scavenger hunt and stroll known as Night of a Thousand Santas (or Krampus – you decide!) Just dress up as Santa or Krampus and join the pre-party at Chelsea’s before visiting six other locations to scout out prizes and clues, take selfies for the contest and see who wins the night.
The Cathouse Lounge is going the extra mile to be added to Santa’s nice list, helping others while celebrating in style by hosting a Onesie Party Toy Drive. While the onesie-clad revelers wait for Santa or Krampus to arrive, Springfield band Magnetik South will entice all to the dance floor with their country rock sound. The trio of Jason Mahy (vocals, bass) Jarrod Friedly (lead guitar) and Hyda-James Hill (drums) combine years of experience for a tight sound as they play originals and covers. Deep, country vocals and impeccable musicianship make this a band to see. As one Facebook reviewer said while praising Magnetik South, “It’s hard to find a band that sounds good when you’re sober.” Wonder if they’ll see Santa or Krampus? Music starts at 8 p.m. at the Cathouse Lounge, right across from the Historical Museum.
