OzMoMu 2020 is over, sadly. Fantastic bands came and left our little slice of heaven. Speaking of heaven, I want to talk about an artist whose vibrato might take your breath away like the first sight of pearly gates. Skye Pollard is playing at the Gravel Bar this Friday evening at 7. and his acoustic work is something to not be missed. The reason I mention OzMoMu is because Skye Pollard won the Folk Festival Singer/Songwriter Competition and played on Saturday afternoon. Because I love talking two bands in one column, I have to bring up that Ben Miller Band is back at Chelsea’s this Friday as well at 9:30 p.m. They’ve got a great mix of blues and rock that will suit your taste no matter what they play. So grab a beer and enjoy some music this January weekend. Go ahead and start prepping your Mardi Gras props now, it’s just around the corner.
