Lola Pearl Wolfinbarger Weems was born October 16, 1923 and died August 4, 2020. She was born in Eureka Springs, Ark., to Arlie Quincy Wolfinbarger and Mary Cordell Wolfinbarger. She was one of nine children – five boys and four girls.

On June 18, 1939, she married George McKinley Weems of Eureka Springs, Ark., and they were together 81 years. They were the parents of eight children, three boys and five girls.

Lola was a busy wife and mother involved with family and children’s activities for many years. Along with raising a large family, she enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, church activities at her church, Penn Memorial First Baptist Church of Eureka Springs.

She supported and enjoyed working on fundraising campaigns for St. Jude’s Hospital, American Heart Association and March of Dimes. Lola enjoyed many years of family gatherings with Sunday dinners and family reunions.

In 1976, Mrs. Weems established an antique shop, Country Antiques, in her home on Stadium Road which she operated until 2017 when failing health caused its closing. She enjoyed making new friends and had many returning customers year after year. Lola was loved and adored by her children and all of the grandchildren.

Lola is preceded in death by her parents; three children Barbara Weems Kelley, Donnie Weems and Howard Weems; two granddaughters Julianna Kelley and Regina Weems; one great grandson Brandon Snodgrass.

She is survived by her husband McKinley Weems; one son, Arlie Weems, of Eureka Springs; four daughters Sandra Clark (Larry) of Ft. Smith, Karen Grulkey (Dave), Diane McClelland (Larry) and Terri Weems all of Eureka Springs; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson. Lola will be missed by all.

The family wishes to thank her caregivers Valerie Cowar and granddaughter, Sheree Tucker, for their loving care and devotion.
