My mother was a woman of her own design. Her life was her fancy, she found how she wanted to spend her days and did so. From journalist, to farmer, to restaurateur, to massage therapist.
Always my mom.
My mother was kind, generous, clever, hilarious. A consummate hostess, there were no dull moments with her. You couldn’t miss her anywhere; you would always know when she got there. And now when she left.
Mom kept her deep seated, intrinsic, happy face, twinkle, her little giggle and even her laugh over all these last years, still a favorite of all who knew and met her.
She had been suffering, but now she is at rest.
I loved her so much.
I love you the most.
I miss you.
William Luke
Dearest Julie Mom,
I wish we were on Lightning Ridge Road, eating on the back porch.
I wish we were laughing, smoking and listening to cicadas together.
I wish you, Luke and I were having a lovely summer day at your place.
I continue to miss you and cherish our 20 years of talks and time together.
I do believe Heaven is as magical as you are.
With Love,
Your daughter-in-law,
Sally
