Is staring at your wall getting fun yet?

No? About the same for me, but my wife is making us paint tonight so I’ll have a new color to stare at for the next week while COVID-19 continues to ruin mine, my wife’s and my kid’s social life. What better way to stare at a wall than with music? Even if there is not a single bar open in Eureka Springs and not a single show available to see that doesn’t mean we let the music die. Means we need to make an effort to keep it alive.

Mollie O’Brien played at Eureka House Concerts in February and she is worth a listen over this next week. A healthy discography that goes back to 1987, it adds up to several hours of Americana that will take the edge off of any anxiety you might have. If you have a partner, she has a great mix of music to slow dance to and quicker paced jigs to two-step with.

Another one of the first bands I spoke about when I took over the IndySoul was Clusterpluck. A fusion of bluegrass, folk, rock and country based out of Southern Illinois, they are a band that will teach you the taste of lemonade is always better with music and a rocking chair. If you don’t have a rocking chair, then a seat on your porch with the windows open to let the music out will do. Don’t forget to tap your toe, it’s the most important part.

I will return next week with more music to keep you company while self-isolation becomes the new norm. This is Jeremiah, signing off to start painting the living room “cappuccino foam.”
