The Historic District Commission might have set a record for brevity with an 11-minute session on April 15. The only pending application appeared on the consent agenda, which was approved without discussion.
Commissioners spent some time discussing efforts to refinish the floor in the basement of The Aud, where city government meetings are held. A workshop is planned for June 25-28, and volunteers are needed to help with the process. Commissioner Peter Graham said the first day of the project will be the most important. A stripper will remove the old finish, since sanding removes material. Volunteers are welcome to participate for any part of the workshop, which is a partnership with Main Street Eureka Springs.
The HDC will next meet at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6. Level III applications were due April 22, and Level II applications are due April 29.
