Has anyone ever worn a shirt that says I love my girlfriend more than spearfishing?

18-year-old Chris Cantrell started diving and spearfishing a couple of months ago. On Labor Day weekend, he brought in a contender for the world’s biggest paddlefish, weighing in at 90+ pounds. The spoonbill was spotted about 15 ft. deep on the north side of Beaver Lake.

Arkansas Game & Fish started stocking paddlefish in the lake in 1990 as a backup to the river spoonbill, known for its caviar. There was no need to stock as the river spoonbill did just fine, even with rampant poaching of the ‘90s. So, the lake fish just got bigger and older and more plentiful, even though they’re still rare.

Paddlefish are the oldest surviving animal species in North America, older than dinosaurs. They are sometimes called spoonbill or spoonbill catfish, even though they are not catfish.
