Hope everyone’s start of the new year has been good. This young fella holding this big striper is Lincoln Forseth. He has been trying hard to beat his personal best of 12 lbs. and boy, he did it this day. He was just shy by a few ozs. of the 20-pounder club. He had some good help from his father Patrick Forseth, who has Ozarks Fishing Guides service on Beaver Lake. Look them up on Facebook to get more great pictures of big smiles. Give him a call for your striper fix.

So, we can tell that the stripers are biting, and crappie reports have been excellent as well.

As for my crew, we are wanting the weather to stay good and cold so we can go hit SWEPCO Lake in Gentry, Arkansas. Although labeled as Lake Flint Creek on many maps, the 500-acre reservoir is known far and wide by the name “SWEPCO,” which stands for Southwestern Electric Power Co., the owner of the lake and surrounding land.

The reservoir serves as a water source to generate electric power, and the heated water is discharged into the lake. Anglers travel from all around just to wet a line. When looking this lake up online mostly all you will hear about is their largemouth bass, both the Florida strain and Northern.

But I have had just as much fun catching nice-sized catfish out of this productive lake. As always, I love pulling in a fish and not knowing for sure what it is until seeing it.

The White River is full of trout.  Custom Adventures Guide Service has all the equipment you need. So, if you need an adventure give us a call (479) 363-9632 and get booked up. Be sure to look us up on Facebook to see what we have been up to. Make some memories and take a kid fishing.
