Hello all, this week’s adventure was a sightseeing tour with Kriste’lee and her friend Gail, from Berryville, Arkansas. They had gone with me in May, and it was such a good trip. They wanted to plan one for when the fall leaves were here. We almost missed them, but some leaves were still out and on fire. We were able to see some wildlife, – four eagles, two big hawks, waterfalls and much more. Because of no generation on that day, we were not able to see the Dam, but we viewed it in May. Temp was close to 70° last Wednesday, it felt fabulous.

This week’s fishing report is all about crappie and trout, a ton of pictures this week of both. For crappie about 10–22 feet, using small jigs and minnows seems to be the ticket to get them in the boat.

Look for Beaver Lake to continue to get better in the next few weeks. If cold would set in, I believe the bite will get even hotter. All fish feed year ‘round, but some become harder to find during the wintertime. However, crappie are easier to locate than other species when the water turns cold as fish like to congregate around cover such as brush piles or standing timber.

Bigger trout has been devouring live bait, nightcrawlers, shrimp, also minnows. Trout love cold water.  For the trout, the temperature is not all about the comfort zone as colder water holds more oxygen. When the water warms up, oxygen begins to dissipate causing trout to feel stressed well before low oxygen reaches deadly levels.

White River has had some sporadic generation schedules this past week, making it hard to plan your fishing trips.
