Hey fishing friends, hope you all had a wonderful week and hope you got at least one day of fishing in. Last week I was promoting Striper Guide Services which is great for some. There are some people who pursue multiple fish but then they target, from time to time, a fish they dream to fish for.

They study, pick brains and spend many hours fishing, shopping, graphing and searching, for that elusive fish of a lifetime. It can take years, sometimes like Kalvin Cackler from Berryville, Ark., who fished hard and a long time for this nice striper of Beaver Lake. He said the main thing is to find them on your graph and then drift over or troll through them.

Which just wasn’t working that day so, nightfall came and they decided to fish under lights. They anchored on a main point in 27 FOW (Feet of Water) where they had marked some early that day. He said they had nonstop action all night long with 5-7 lb. Channel Cats and a couple of walleye mixed in.

He said when this one hooked up he knew it was different. It peeled 150 feet of line off in 10 seconds. When they finally got it to the boat the net was not enough to hold this big fish. But they managed to get it in the boat. He said he has never put so many hours into trying to catch a single fish. Yeah, so striper fishing is still hot.

Good news down on the White River, they have not been generating in the morning and the trout truck was just here a few days ago. So go out and catch some dinner. Trout have been biting Powerbait, white and yellow, or sunrise you can also put a little piece nightcrawler on with your Powerbait.  Spoons in any color have been good, colors depend on overcast, sunshine, morning, or evening times.

Flyfishing is back, white or green olive patterns are doing well. Look us up on our Facebook page at Custom Adventures Guide Service for more great pictures of fish being caught every day.  You can also give us a call at (479) 253-9632  Keep it Reel and take a kid fishing.
