I had the pleasure of taking the Anderson family from Texas out on my boat this last weekend. Tag, Karla, and their beautiful daughter, Hannah.

Fishing people they were. I could tell they all had fished before, also had fished together in the past with all the natural razzing they all had going on between them. They teased, jived, and made some wisecracks that I can`t wait to use on my son or daughter next time I have them in the boat. They had me laughing and hopping throughout the whole trip. I could have spent the whole day with them.

I hear tell there are a few mushrooms popping up around these here parts. With the dogwoods, redbuds, flowers and mushrooms blooming out, so are all kinds of fish. Like the smallmouth fish on the Kings River.

Smallmouth are a little harder to catch in the winter months, but right they are coming alive. I like to throw white with a red head Rooster Tail lures at them.

Or my favorite is to pull out the fly rod and use a size 10 bead head wooly bugger, again color being white with a red wrap around the neck. Then have fun fighting off all the little sun perch, goggle eye, rock bass, and bluegills just to have a chance to hang that mighty smallmouth bass.

We have started our season full force right now. So early booking is suggested. You can see how busy we have been on our Facebook page Custom Adventures Guide Service. Or give us a call at (479) 363-9632. Remember to take a kid fishing.
