Another week and another big fish. Dawn Rinehart and her husband, Paul, had the opportunity to stay at Sugar Ridge Resort and to get out on the water with guide Curtis Wing with Beaver Fever Striper Guide Service. He was able to turn her onto her first striper ever and what a doozy, 38 lbs. Great job girl!

So, as you can see striper fishing is excellent on Beaver Lake.

Beaver Tailwater is still full of hungry aggressive trout and we are still catching a lot of slot fish. People ask me all the time about the slot limit… the White River (Beaver Tailwater) from Beaver Dam to boundary signs at Houseman Access – have a protected slot limit of 13-16 inches. Trout inside these measurements must be released.

Anglers can keep a daily limit of five, only one of which may be longer than 16 inches. So, in other words, you can keep a total of five trout per person, 4 under 13 inches and one over 16, or all 5 under 13 inches.

The plan intends to maintain and enhance recreational fishing opportunities on Beaver Tailwater. I can say that we are catching bigger trout than we did 5 years ago.

I`m ready to hit the Kings River soon. I like to take out the fly rod and chase smallmouth bass. Usually, a White Woolly Bugger with red thread on the neck is all you need. Let the fun begin. Whether you are hooked up with sun perch, rock bass, or my scared fish, the smallmouth bass you will be in for a good ride.

I’m waiting to hear a report from Richard Lee Rusher, a team member of Custom Adventures Guide Service who is fishing the Kings River this week.
