This week’s picture comes from Ozark Fishing Guide Service.

Owner and captain of Ozark Fishing Guide Service, Patrick Forseth, who took this picture, is fervent about getting families out striper fishing on Beaver Lake.

Fishing with OFGS is an adventure on an absolutely beautiful lake full of huge striper. They also specialize in walleye and crappie trips.

These anglers were from the Bentonville area. Patrick said, “One of these couples buys their friend couple a very nice Christmas gift each year. The second couple was this year’s recipient and invited them. They were an absolute blast.”

This trip started out on the chilly-morning side.

They were fishing the Horseshoe Bend/Prairie Creek area using live shad and brooders. They ended up catching largemouth, walleye and striper.

All fish were caught on long lines or planer boards. Patrick found something interesting – every striper he filleted in the past week has had a completely empty belly. He was focusing on shelves off the bluff walls near the main channel and finding success doing that lately, in 60 ft. of water or less.

Take a look at his Facebook page under Ozark Fishing Guides for some really amazing pictures and information. Or give Patrick a call at (479) 876-0016.

I also saw great pictures of white bass last week, one of the best pictures I saw was a stringer full of nice size ones caught at Twin Bridges from the bank.

The other pictures I saw came from Beaver Lake and the White River. If you’re trying to go for a white bass, use anything that mimics a minnow in pattern. If you’re fly fishing, use a Clowser minnow or white woolly booger. For spin fishing use a white plastic swimming minnow with a chartreuse jig, a white or a chrome rooster tail. And you can’t go wrong with a live minnow with or without a jig head.

If you need any help getting out onto the water, please give me a call at Custom Adventures Guide Service (479) 244-5259. Happy Fishing! It’s time.
