Part of me wanted to start this off this as like, “Please be careful this week don’t go out, stay home.” But then I read this saying, “If you spend your whole life waiting for the storm, you’ll never enjoy the sunshine.” — Morris West. Use precautions. The weather can be off sometimes. Get out there and try it, you can always turn around and come home.

I really hate to do back-to-back pictures of the same fish species, that we showed last week, but when the crappie are hot on Beaver Lake, they are hot! The reports I got for the last three weeks are grand. It seems to be with all different kinds of methods and locations.

This week’s picture is of Willow Usrey, and she is 10 years old. She is quite the angler at such a young age. Her personal best crappie on Beaver Lake is one that weighed in at 1.91lbs. She might have a little advantage. Her father is Cody Usrey with Beaver Lakes River Rat Guide Service (479) 531 5535. He has been a guide since 2017 on Beaver Lake.

They live in Rogers but fish the War Eagle and White River arms of lake mainly. She is a crappie fishing machine. Her dad calls her the Crappie Princess.

He said they were using livescope casting at roaming crappie with a 1/16 oz. jig head with a white body. And was in 30 feet of water with fish suspended 5- to 10-feet deep.

Cody agreed that, “Yes, the last three weeks crappie fishing has been on fire. We have been catching limits every time.”

Give him a call and get that crappie on.

Kitty, kitty Beaver Lake cats are eating. There’s more than one way to catch a catfish. Trotlines, limb lines, jug fishing, rod and reel, even catching them by hand, all put old whiskers in the picture. And the reports are good, even from bank fishing.

Walleye trolling crankbaits on gravel bars and bluff lines, around 12 to 17 feet.

Trout fishing below the dam is always good. For finding the right guides, give me a call I can hook you up at Custom Adventures Guide Service (479) 244-5259/
