Green Forest candidates focus growing economy

Nestor Rivera is running for mayor and emphasized the need for affordable housing for the increasingly diverse population of Green Forest. Fifty-one percent of the town’s residents are non-white, and he intends to focus on expanding the economic base. Current Green Forest mayor, Charlie Reece, is running for county judge.

Renee Gonzalez is a nurse with experience with seniors, running for alderman in Ward 2, Position 1. She sees the need for more low-income housing for seniors, and said growth is coming so she wants to make sure the town manages it in a fair and positive way.
