- Commissioner Melissa Greene observed there has been a huge traffic problem on recent weekends, and recommended a possible relief would be an area on North Main Street behind the Artists’ Colony in which she recently saw seven campers. Mayor Butch Berry said he had not seen the campers, but would ask Public Works Director Dwayne Allen for an assessment.
- Alderman Kristi Kendrick asked what could be done with the grant originally targeted toward a path between Harmon Park and Clear Spring School. She offered a few other possibilities, notably sidewalks near schools, and Berry said the city was waiting for an engineer’s report on a sidewalk from the top of Planer Hill to the Community Center.
- Berry announced the property at 25 Norris was vacant. He said there had been interest in leasing the property, but David Mitchell was reticent to lease the property until the city settled on where the city would permanently relocate its meetings.
- There are vacancies on these commissions: Planning, Hospital and Cemetery.
Next meeting will be Monday, April 23, at 6 p.m. It will be preceded by a budget workshop at 5:15.
