Fight for peace

Editor,

Anyone who viewed the murder of George Floyd by a police officer who kept his knee crushing Mr. Floyd’s throat for 8 minutes and 46 seconds should be appalled by this police brutality. No, it wasn’t in Arkansas, but, historically, we can find cases of police murder all over our country.

People who love justice must demonstrate that we will not stand for any more racism. All demonstrations have been peaceful until the police spray burning mace in peoples’ faces or do some other act of meanness. There have been cases of white nationalists disrupting the peaceful demonstrations by pretending to be sincere demonstrators and by attempting acts of violence.

All of us should demand accountability of the police and white people, especially, should combat racism at every turn. If we want peace, we must fight for justice.
