On April 12, I injured my hand and wrist rather badly, and my wife piled me into the car to seek medical attention. We thought about Fayetteville and Harrison (where I have family members who are doctors). We also thought about Berryville, since it’s pretty close, and we were dimly aware that the Eureka Springs Hospital has maybe had some unfavorable press recently.
But I was losing blood, so we pulled into the Eureka Springs Hospital Emergency Room.
I’m just writing to tell you, and anyone else who’s interested, that the professionals at the Eureka Springs Emergency Room were excellent in every respect. Fast, competent, compassionate, knowledgeable, and careful.
They ended up sending me on to Little Rock to a hand specialist, but in the interim, they took extremely good care of me in the most immediate and professional manner. They stopped the bleeding, diagnosed and bandaged the injury, medicated it (and me), installed an IV, arranged an ambulance, made the referral and arranged a midnight appointment in Little Rock, and made sure I was OK to travel.
Unfortunately, I was too dazed to get their names, but I appreciate every single one of them, and the fine care that I got here in Eureka Springs.
Thank you!
Mike Bennett
