For authentic “don’t stop now” music, the 5th Annual OzMoMu, an outdoor festival held indoors, will possibly make the Basin Park Hotel seismic this weekend. Headlined by Tall Tall Trees from Ashville, N.C., and Carrie Nation & The Speakeasy from Lawrence, Kan., this could be a Basin levitation.

Warm up with Eureka’s own DiMe Trip, all multi-instrumentalists, Thursday night at 6, and stick around for the Group Jam later on.

Friday gets going with Alaina Blake & Dylan Hawf at 6, Urban Pioneers at 8, and the crowning blowout, Tall Tall Trees at 10.

Mike Savino, the man behind Tall Tall Trees, is a pioneer in spontaneous ear bending and looping on a homemade banjolele. He reminds audiences that the banjo is, at root, a drum. Mike proves that the only way to put a stop to a master banjo player is to put sheet music in front of him.

Saturday’s lineup leads offs Hi-Fi Hillbillies, a trio of self-proclaimed knuckleheads from Tulsa who wonder who’s on first while burning the best and tightest of Johnny Cash, Buddy Holly and CCR, at High Noon. The Creek Rocks made the cover of Acoustic Guitar in September (enough said) and starts at 2. American Lions at 4, Grassfed at 6, Miles Over Mountains at 8 and Carrie Nation & The Speakeasy at 10.

Brass ‘n grass is the forte of Carrie Nation & The Speakeasy from Wichita has been called a “stagecoach in overdrive.” If high energy bluegrass-ska-dixieland with mandolin, banjo, trombone and stand-up bass is what it takes to make you smile at your beer, this is the real deal. Bluegrass instrumentation and subtle harmony make lyrics like, “If you need me come and save me” stay with you on all your coach drives.

High energy progressive bluegrass to hillbilly buck dancing swing all weekend with Late Night Jams on Friday and Saturday right in the neighborhood at Chelsea’s Corner Cafe & Bar. You can sleep when you get home.
