Dropping a Line

Tuna are being caught on live and cut bait, blue marlin are being caught trolling on big, fast moving squid lures, and shark can be caught while reeling in your marlin or tuna.

I took this pic myself last week visiting a friend in Branson. If it would’ve been nicer weather I might of caught these myself, if I had gone south, but it was not affordable.

I have my first trip for 2018 here in three weeks, so I’m staying home and getting all ready for another season, it’s just around the corner.

We’re now on the backside of this winter, so it’s time to oil and get new line on them reels, clean the tackle boxes and pre-fish on these warmer days. Every day the sun is shining longer, just a few weeks and this cabin fever will be history.

We are still running our $40 discount on striper trips and $20 off on our Holiday Island trips for 2018 that are in the books before March 1.

A lot of the bigger fish are caught in March because they’re full of eggs, but most still have them in April and I myself enjoy the fishing better with no cold fingers.

Well, not much to report here this week since the snow and thunderstorm kept most of us in. I enjoyed hearing the thunderstorm. Made me think of spring. Brought a fly inside for the dog to chase and the day before was so warm I had a ladybug on my arm. That and a neighbor finding a tick made me smile.

Get that tackle ready, watch for mosquitoes and don’t listen to that groundhog. ‘Til next week stay warm.
