Don’t walk on the grass. Seeds.

Editor,

My 22-year-old daughter is working for the Wilderness Society and has taken a keen interest in the five percent of land left on the whole entire planet not altered by humans.

As lawn season and Big Box stores start up with their weed and feed commercials, or grass seed, it might be good to be note that almost all seeds are treated with chemicals now and that includes even grass seed.

A friend of mine bought a bag of grass seed from Costco that spilled in the car with her three kids. As she was sweeping it up, she noticed warning labels – Don’t Touch the Seed!

I think if we can’t touch the seeds (treated seed of all kinds), we might wonder how healthy it is to use them at all?

Thank you for the planet.
