Don King of Holiday Island, Ark., was born May 18, 1935 in New Bedford, Mass., to Owen and Gladys (Chace) King. He departed this life on Thursday, July 26, 2018 in Bentonville, Ark., at age 83.
Don was a member of the Elks Lodge #1042 in Holiday Island and served as the Veteran’s Committee chair person. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #36, Men’s Golf League in Holiday Island and St. Edward Catholic Church in Cassville, Mo.
On Nov. 23, 1957 he was united in marriage with Bernice (Morgan) King who survives him of the home. He is also survived by one son, Robert King and wife, Bettina, of Guntersville, Ala.; four daughters, Diane Golden and husband, Bronce, of Vacaville, Calif.; Debbie Waranch and husband, Frank, of Joplin, Mo.; Donna Vitton and husband, Tom, of Springdale, Ark.; Kim Kimura and husband, Chris, of Cardiff, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, loved ones and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one granddaughter.
Memorial service was August 1, 2018 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Cassville, Mo.
