- How did you arrive in Eureka Springs?
A friend told me that I would love Eureka Springs. But it was not until 30 years later while driving with my wife that we saw a sign for Eureka Springs and took it. We’ve been here ever since.
- What was the biggest lesson learned by your younger self?
I was still in college and wanted to get into radio. I met the radio manager for a job interview and didn’t get the job but came back nine months later and got it. Persevere and just go for it.
- If you could see any musician dead or alive, who would it be?
I’ve seen a lot of concerts in my day, but never saw the Grateful Dead in person.
- Are you a glass half full or a glass half empty person?
Half full. Kahlil Gibran said, “It’s a duty to be happy in this world.”
- Here’s your desert island choice – you only get 3 albums. What are they?
Santana’s Abraxas, The Concert for Bangladesh, and probably a folk album compilation.
- What do you think keeps love alive over decades?
A lot of acceptance and compromise.
What six people, dead or alive, would you invite to your dinner party? George Carlin, Malala Yousafzi, JFK, Alan Watts, my wife, MJ, and an unknown woman who explained and encouraged me to become a conscientious objector of the Vietnam war. I never saw her again but would love to thank her.
