Dinner for Six

Pearl Brick — longtime Eureka Springs resident, mover and shaker, singer/songwriter and mother of three, has officially announced her run for mayor. Her love for this quirky little town runs deep. Good luck, grrl.

  1. How did you arrive in Eureka Springs?

I came here kicking and crying… Larry refused to buy a house in Cambria, California, where we lived. He had already bought property here. He sent me to town to see if I could live here and I bought a house on Ridgeway.

  1. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

No such thing as a good deal too good to pass up – time to sell is when you’ve got a buyer.

  1. Are you still friends with anyone from high school?

Gene Miller. He sang back-up for Donna Summer for years and was here with Amy Grant when she was here.

  1. Do you believe in love at first sight?

I do. It happens to me almost every day.

  1. What did you want to be growing up?

A veterinarian. I’ve drug animals home since I was five. I have my vet tech certificate now. Savannah and I want to have a horse rescue and use horses to heal children and veterans.

  1. What’s your go-to restaurant in Eureka Springs?

Local Flavor. When I worked at the Auditorium, I ate their salmon salad all the time. It has the most consistent and amazing food.

What 6 people would you invite to a dinner party?

My first thought was all my family. Jessie my son, my oldest daughter Kara, my baby grrl, Savannah and her husband, Ashton’s family, plus Larry and Rachel Brick with her grrls. I know that’s a few more than six, and can we have it catered in a field by the river?
