Daniel “Danny” Peter Lloyd from Eureka Springs, Arkansas, passed away on April 9, 2026, at his home at age 70. Danny was born to Jesse Eugene Lloyd and Ruth Maybelle Ermatinger in Oshkosh, Wis., on April 20, 1955.
By the time Danny was 14, he had lived all over the world before his family settled in Colorado Springs, Colo., where he soon met Lana. They married young and had two beautiful daughters, BJ and Amanda, whom he loved deeply. In late 1976, Danny moved his family to Eureka Springs, hoping to raise his girls in a small close-knit community.
Danny was truly a jack of all trades. There was rarely anything he couldn’t fix or figure out. Growing up as a self-described “military brat,” he spent time on many bases and was naturally drawn to auto shops and workshops, where generous mentors taught him skills he carried for life. Dan said, “I think those guys actually liked teaching me their skills.
Jonell Sullivan, his mother from age 17, taught him silversmithing. Rock hounding was a hobby that seemed to go right along with jewelry making, which led him to study lapidary. Jonell often said Danny’s talent for jewelry making, cutting, and polishing gems and minerals far surpassed her own.
An entrepreneur at heart, Danny owned jewelry stores before and after moving to Eureka Springs. He also co-owned and operated The Rock and Mineral Mine along with long-time partner Tony Walker, who was more like a brother. For over 30 years, they worked side-by-side on countless projects and business ventures as well as working together tirelessly on the family property so their shared children could always have a home.
He most recently worked with Bob Dillon Designs on a project that brought a spark back to him with a fun, new kind of project. Danny always loved projects and was the most organized person for the job. Over the 50 years of being an Eurekan, he built a huge tribe of friends who became family, all of whom he loved and cherished.
Danny’s favorite places were Colorado and Arizona, which he shared many great adventures with loving family and great friends. Those adventures will be cherished forever especially by his children and grandchildren. Danny loved his huge family deeply and would drop everything to help them. They will miss his strong, steady, and calm presence.
Danny is survived by his daughters BJ Allee and Amanda (Justin) Lindsey; sisters Joni Cooper, Roberta Robinson and Pamela Toelle; bonus son Joel Walker; best friend Lana Walker; grandchildren Daniel Tyler Allee, Tanner (Ashlin) Allee, William Allee, Bella Allee, Hallie (Trevor) Lemme, Olivia Lindsey, Wyatt Walker, Wyndle “Wynnie” Walker and Woodson Walker; and nine great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.
Danny is preceded in death by his parents Jesse Eugene and Ruth Maybelle Lloyd; sisters Janet Lloyd Starr, Rosemary Lloyd and Kathy Lloyd; and his mom, Jonelle Sullivan.
