Curious and unusual

Editor,

Alice in Wonderland got it right, “Curiouser and Curiouser,” she cried, and the Rabbit said, “When I used to read fairy tales, I fancied that kind of thing never happened, and now here I am in the middle of one.”

Sounds like what I experienced in a so-called “Christian” store when several folks loudly shouted praises for Donald Trump. They assumed everyone agreed that he “is the best president we’ve ever had!”

I am in the middle of growing Fascism and I will resist! I said, “Well, I don’t like a womanizer, a man who uses women then tries to buy them off, a liar who pushes terrible policies, is greedy and also a thief…”

I was not allowed to finish my list of what is wrong with this “best president.” Of course, they tried to talk over my freedom of speech. I said to one woman, “I thought you were supposed to be a Christian” to which she replied, “I am a Christian.”

Would someone please enlighten me as to how a “Christian” could love a corrupt and mean man like Trump? Is it only the abortion issue that overshadows his bad character?

My dear grandmother was a real Christian, she fed the hobos who came up her backstairs, believed in morals and ethics, was not a racist in 1940’s Mississippi, showed love to everyone, and taught me to believe in compassion, honesty and goodness.
