Jeremy Alan Martines-Brooks, 29, and his girlfriend, Crystal Amondson, both of Eureka Springs are wanted on felony burglary charges, according to ES Police Chief Brian Young. The two are accused of stealing mail, then “washing,” forging, and cashing checks. Washing is using solvents to erase details that allow checks to be rewritten for fraudulent use.

The couple fled police at the train station last Friday morning, headed north on Hwy. 23. They were in a borrowed vehicle, according to Young, and the chase ended at the state line when Martines-Brooks called ESPD dispatch and threatened to drive into oncoming traffic unless law enforcement ended their pursuit.

Martines-Brooks and Amondson are currently eligible for nationwide extradition due to the list of felonies in Arkansas and Missouri where they are people of interest. Martines-Brooks is also charged with felony fleeing.
