City council voted unanimously on Monday to approve Res. 726, which expressed “support for the construction of the bike trails at Lake Leatherwood City Parks, and thank Steuart Walton and Tom Walton for their help with this project.”
Alderman David Mitchell commented he wanted to clarify that council had always supported the Parks Department, but confusion possibly arose because of issues council saw between the Parks Commission and the Community Center Foundation. He maintained council was supportive of what Parks was doing with the downhill trails project.
