Constables on Patrol

December 4

10:21 a.m. – Constable took a report of an incident which occurred the previous week at a laundromat on US 62.

11:35 a.m. – Resident told a constable items had been taken from her home on Armstrong.

4:36 p.m. – Vehicle owner claimed her windshield had been broken by car wash equipment.

8:53 p.m. – Something triggered the burglar alarm at a business on the east end of US 62, Constable found all doors secure.

December 6

2:14 a.m. – Witness downtown heard noise in the street and saw a woman either fall or get pushed out of a vehicle onto the street. Male driving the vehicle passed by the woman on the street more than once leaving her there. Constables converged on the scene but did not see the vehicle or the woman.

10:08 a.m. – Constable followed up on a 911 hangup call. Everything was okay.

2:27 p.m. – Spring St. merchant reported that a Christmas wreath on the front door had been stolen.

5:53 p.m. – Bank employee reported a threatening phone call and a constable responded.

6:50 p.m. – Constable performed a welfare check in the south part of town. Everything checked out fine.

December 7

11:55 a.m. – Deputies in the west part of town reported finding a license plate ESPD had reported stolen.

2:14 p.m. – Constables added extra patrols on South Main because of suspicious activity.

9:56 p.m. – Individual reported a road rage incident on US 62.

December 8

10:32 a.m. – Alarm at a business downtown was triggered. Constable found the building secure.

11:24 a.m. – Individual told ESPD about a threatening letter she received.

2:37 p.m. – Passerby on US 62 reported seeing a possibly disoriented female not dressed for the cold weather. Constable did not encounter her.

8:56 p.m. – Alarm company alerted an apartment dweller that someone had tried to enter her apartment. Constables responded but did not find anything.

9:35 p.m. – Constables spoke with residents of a mobile home park because of reports of gunshots.

December 9

1:47 a.m. – Burglary alarm sounded at a business in the commercial area of US 62. Constable noticed a window open on backside of building. Detective also responded for possible break-in.

3:42 p.m. – There was a two-car accident in the east part of town.

December 10

2:25 a.m. – Someone reported an inebriated person in a bank parking lot.

3:48 a.m. – Disturbance at a motel led to the arrest of an individual for public intoxication.

3:56 a.m. – Staff at a business on US 62 reported three suspicious people in the parking lot behind the building.

8:16 p.m. – Witness claimed there were persons stomping on the roof of the Basin Park pavilion. Surveillance camera verified three people were in the vicinity, but they were gone when the constable arrived.

10:41 p.m. – Resident above downtown and his grandchildren were exiting his vehicle as a pickup drove dangerously close to them, and the driver was revving his engine and honking his horn in a harassing manner. Resident said this had happened before. Constable spoke with the complainant and someone connected to the pickup.

December 11

1:16 a.m. – Manager of a downtown bar reported vandalism to the bathroom.
