Constables on Patrol

October 10

4:06 p.m. – Pit Bull cavorted sans owner near a motel. Animal Control called the owner to pick up the unattended animal.

4:41 p.m. – Individual was sleeping near a downtown building. He was arrested for public intoxication and obstructing governmental operations.

5:15 p.m. – Person turned himself in on an ESPD warrant for domestic battery.

5:28 p.m. – Big black dog ran amok in a neighborhood. Animal Control had a word with the owner.

October 11

10:46 a.m. – Merchant downtown reported a puppy was shopping all by itself. Animal Control took it to the kennel where the owner later claimed it.

11:35 a.m. – Staff at the high school reported a car full of kids dropped off one student at the school and left the scene. Constables encountered the car full of kids and escorted them back to the school to wait for the arrival of their parents.

12:50 p.m. – Constable checked on a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot and discovered it had been reported stolen by the Johnson PD. One person was taken into custody.

October 12

10:08 a.m. – A tram and a vehicle sideswiped.

7:54 p.m. – Constable intervened in a neighbor dispute near downtown.

9:16 p.m. – A report of kids on the school track prompted a visit by a constable.

10:56 p.m. – Resident in a neighborhood above downtown complained of a vehicle driving back and forth honking its horn. Constable went there to check.

October 13

10 a.m. – Constable on patrol got vehicles relocated out of the way on a narrow street near downtown.

10:30 a.m. – Guest at a tourist lodging claimed someone stole his medication.

6:11 p.m. – Merchant told ESPD a couple not allowed on the property had just pulled into the parking lot, but they were gone before the constables arrived.

6:36 p.m. – Apartment dweller complained nearby neighbors were stomping around and moving things just to make extra noise and disturb others. Constables responded and did not hear anything from the apartment but did inform the owner of the complaints.

October 14

12:20 a.m. – An argument was brewing in a bar, but the participants departed while the constable was en route.

3:18 a.m. – Someone in a neighborhood complained about noise nearby.

12:40 p.m. – Passerby said there was a puppy locked in a van. Animal Control arrived to find the owner had returned and the puppy had water and ventilation.

1:43 p.m. – Constable repaired a malfunctioning parking meter.

2:59 p.m. – Another dog was locked in a van, but windows were cracked a bit, the animal had water and the vehicle would be in the shade soon. Constable would check again in awhile.

4:56 p.m. – Caller requested a welfare check on a toddler. Constable found the child was not at the address but he arrested an individual on an outstanding warrant for child support.

October 15

1:29 a.m. – There was a noise complaint in a neighborhood.

2:01 a.m. – Constable went to a motel to escort disruptive guests off the property.

5:01 a.m. – Motorist needed assistance from a constable.
