Constables on Patrol

July 13

4:02 a.m. – Observer was concerned about a group of people suspiciously gathered near the middle school. Constable responded but no one was there when he arrived.

4:06 p.m. – Individual came to the station to report a neighbor unplugs his phone line at the box. He did not want a report or a constable response but to log the situation into the system in case the behavior continues.

6:21 p.m. – Person asked for a welfare check on her friend. Constable did not find the friend at home nor was the person admitted to ESH.

6:58 p.m. – Witness told ESPD there was a vehicle in the southwest part of town with both doors open and two people sleeping inside. The female had syringes in her lap. Constable arrested the female for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. The male was arrested for two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

July 14

7:33 p.m. – Individual out of town reported her sister-in-law was at her house on Hwy. 23 North, and a male was there on her deck claiming she stole his dog. She insisted she did not steal his dog. CCSO was advised of the situation and a deputy responded.

July 15

3:02 p.m. – Person told ESPD she received an eviction notice stating she had three days to move from the property but she did not get the notice until the day she was supposed to be gone. Information was passed along to a constable.

3:57 p.m. – There was a motorcycle accident on US 62 toward eastern side of town with a possible broken leg. EMS responded and a helicopter was called.

5:43 p.m. – Individual who was out of town told ESPD someone trying to enter his home had broken his storm door. Constable went to the scene and filed a report.

8:41 p.m. – A man could not find his dog and called to see if anyone had reported it.

9:30 p.m. – Witness noticed two couples in an SUV were fighting and screaming, and the vehicle headed west on US 62. Vehicle had been parked on the grass on private property, and owner told the driver to leave. There was some shoving, but owner did not want to file a report. Constables never encountered the vehicle.

11:58 p.m. – Guests at a motel had a family disagreement boisterous enough to prompt a call for a constable.

July 16

1:51 a.m. – Call came in about two inebriated females walking down the middle of a street. Constable went to the area and found the street free of inebriated females.

2:35 a.m. – Constable checked on a disturbance at an apartment complex.

11:28 a.m. – Constables performed a welfare check on a person at a hotel and found her doing just fine.

6:33 p.m. – Someone took a sign from a business.

July 17

12:38 a.m. – Constable responded to an alarm at a business on US 62 and found two employees on site. The building was secure.

1:43 a.m. – Night manager at a restaurant reported items were missing from the freezer.

3:35 a.m. – Resident near downtown asked for a constable to check for a trespasser. Constable found no trespassers.
