October 15

10:06 a.m. – Two large dogs ran loose in a neighborhood in the west side of town. Animal Control collected the animals and held them for the owner to claim.

October 16

9:16 a.m. – There was a vehicle versus deer accident on US 62.

6:51 p.m. – Someone complained about loud music on the east side of town, and constable asked the revelers to turn it down.

October 17

8:50 p.m. – Because of a two-vehicle accident on US 62, one person was trapped in the vehicle with undetermined injuries. Constables and EMS extricated the individual who was transported to ESH.

11:58 a.m. – Father was having a verbal dispute with his daughter’s boyfriend, and he called ESPD. A constable spoke with the father.

12 p.m. – Two large dogs ran loose in a different neighborhood, and Animal Control got the call.

12:18 p.m. – Employer asked for a welfare check on an employee who had not shown up for work and was not answering her phone. Constable responded and learned the employee was out of town celebrating her birthday.

5:54 p.m. – Constable was called to intervene in a child custody dispute.

October 18

9:38 p.m. – There was a disturbance in the east part of town which calmed down after the arrival of the constable.

10:42 p.m. – Passerby noticed someone diving in a dumpster, and a constable checked it out.

October 19

7:24 a.m. – Individual posted a goodbye message on Facebook, and a caller asked for a welfare check. ESPD sent an alert to nearby authorities.

10:41 a.m. – Tourist lodging staff reported a guest had left a gun case behind. Constable picked up the case, which contained only ammunition and clips.

11:08 a.m. – A pickup truck lost its trailer when it turned onto US 62. Constable filed an accident report.

11:39 a.m. – Worried witness claimed four dogs were caged in a small pen in a back yard near downtown. The constable found only two dogs there, but he left a contact card at the residence about the complaint.

2:04 p.m. – Observer reported a pickup was blocking three parking spaces on a street near downtown. As the constable was responding, the observer called back to say the vehicle had been moved.

3:50 p.m. – Individual spoke to a constable about threats.

4:36 p.m. – Witness reported an 18-wheeler being driven recklessly on US 62, but the constable never saw it.

4:43 p.m. – Someone claimed a male on Main Street was being suspicious. Constable spoke to the person and determined there was nothing to report.

7:36 p.m. – Another report of a suspicious male, but the constable did not encounter him.

October 20

12:40 a.m. – As a result of a domestic incident, constables arrested one individual.

12:50 a.m. – Constables on patrol noticed a light on in a vacant establishment. They searched the property and found no one there.

1:45 a.m. – Concerned caller reported hearing screaming, doors banging and a female yelling at someone not to put hands on her again. When constables arrived, the house was dark and quiet and they were not able to speak to anyone.

8:59 a.m. – There was a two-vehicle accident on US 62. No injuries.

12:18 p.m. – Two residents at a care facility were involved in an altercation, and a constable filed a report.

3:05 p.m. – Report came in about suspicious persons in the woods. Constable looked around but did not find anything to report.

3:23 p.m. – Constable went downtown to follow up on a call.

5:08 p.m. – Guests at a tourist lodging were refusing to leave. Constable resolved the issue.

8:20 p.m. – Passerby claimed vehicles were parked in handicapped spots, and the constable noticed the vehicles had handicapped placards properly displayed.

9:36 p.m. – Constable checked on a building on Hwy. 23 South and found it secure.

October 21

1:03 a.m. – A dog barking for an hour in a neighborhood above downtown prompted a visit from the constables.

1:41 a.m. – A constable, ESFD and the gas company responded to a motel to investigate a possible gas leak.

3:08 a.m. – Someone saw broken beer bottles in the middle of a street.

7:50 a.m. – Individual at a motel reported someone had stolen his truck with his motorcycle in the back. Constable alerted all nearby authorities, and the truck and motorcycle were recovered in Crawford County. One person there was arrested for theft by receiving.

9:02 a.m. – There was an accident in a parking lot.

9:50 a.m. – And another one just down the road.

2:51 p.m. – Alarm company alerted ESPD to a burglary alarm at a residence. Constable discovered it had been set off accidentally.

7:50 p.m. – Constable went to check on a parking complaint downtown, but the vehicle was gone when he got there.
