August 27

10:45 a.m. – Apartment dweller asked for a constable to check on suspicious noises nearby. Constable found everything okay.

12:24 p.m. – Concerned caller alerted ESPD to an inebriated driver in the northeast part of town, but constables never encountered the vehicle.

4:58 p.m. – Individual turned himself in on warrants out of CCSO and ESPD.

9:02 p.m. – Person at a motel reported a couple yelling nearby. Constable learned the couple was calling for their dog that had escaped its leash.

10:18 p.m. – Individual was arrested on an ESPD warrant.

August 28

6:42 a.m. – There was a report of possible gunshots downtown and a constable checked the area.

9:44 a.m. – Constable initiated a traffic stop and arrested the driver for driving on a suspended license.

5:22 p.m. – One neighbor threatened another and a constable intervened.

5:42 p.m. – Constable performed a welfare check in the western part of town.

6:20 p.m. – Individual reported a theft.

August 29

7:48 a.m. – As a result of a traffic stop, the driver was arrested for driving on a suspended license, no vehicle license and no proof of insurance.

7:48 p.m. – There was a noise complaint, but the constable found everything within legal limits.

August 30

12:49 a.m. – Caller told ESPD her friend had been involved in a domestic complication. The friend claimed it had been verbal and physical, and her boyfriend left the scene. She also did not want constable assistance. Constable responded anyway but was unable to speak with anyone.

4:42 p.m. – As a result of a report of suspicious activity behind the bandshell in Basin Park, the constable issued citations.

11 p.m. – Person arrested in Benton County on an ESPD warrant for failure to appear and failure to pay was transported to CCSO.

August 31

12:17 p.m. – Individual experiencing low blood sugar levels became combative. Constables assisted EMS.

1:47 p.m. – There was a minor two-vehicle accident in the commercial area of US 62.

2:01 p.m. – Concerned caller claimed squatters were living in the apartment complex. Constable responded and explained the eviction process.

2:51 p.m. – There appeared to be an attempted break-in near downtown.

4:51 p.m. – Constable watched for an alleged erratic motorist but did not encounter one.

6:28 p.m. – Constable gathered information on a possible identify theft.

7:32 p.m. – Someone claimed there might have been a disturbance at a motel, but the constable found the scene serene.

9:30 p.m. – A possibly inebriated person downtown drew the attention of a constable who found nothing to report.

9:39 p.m. – A deer was hit by a car in the northeast part of town.

9:52 p.m. – Report came in of a woman screaming in a restaurant. Constables who went there wondered if maybe the caller had heard children playing instead.

September 1

1:49 a.m. – Traffic stop resulted in the arrest of the driver for DWI and speeding.

10:23 a.m. – Vehicle owner returned to his vehicle to find a note left by the motorist who had bumped into it. Constable spoke with both parties and they agreed to handle the situation without a report.

11:14 a.m. – Person told ESPD a neighbor was harassing him and he wanted her to stop. Constable told the neighbor to stop the harassment and stay off her neighbor’s property.

3 p.m. – Constable performed a civil standby at a residence.

3:12 p.m. – Resident in the western part of town reported a vehicle might have been stolen.

4:37 p.m. – Mechanically-challenged trolley needed traffic assistance from a constable.

5:57 p.m. – More intervention required by a constable for harassing communications.

6:07 p.m. – There was an accident downtown.

8:02 p.m. – There was a 911 hang-up call originating near downtown, but the constable who scoured the area found nothing.

8:35 p.m. – Temporary obstruction on Spring Street cleared itself before the constable arrived.

11:42 p.m. – Constable assisted a deputy on a traffic stop near the city limits.

September 2

3:04 a.m. – Constable spotted a reckless driver and arrested him for DWI, careless driving and refusal to submit.

10:51 a.m. – Motel guest complained about motel staff walking into the room before check out time. Constable spoke with all involved.

5:54 p.m. – Constable went to the location of another 911 hang-up call only to find everything okay.

6:23 p.m. – Person who was subject of a protective order came on the prohibited property anyway. Constable arrested him on a warrant out of CCSO.

7:26 p.m. – On US 62 near downtown, one vehicle hit a deer and knocked it into another vehicle shattering the windshield. Constable responded.

11:03 p.m. – A man was walking in the middle of a dangerous intersection. He told the constable he was just trying to cross the road.

September 3

6:52 a.m. – Traffic stop resulted in the arrest of the driver for driving without a license and speeding.

10:13 a.m. – There was vandalism at a church.

10:29 a.m. – Vandalism at the Community Center was reported.
