August 14

2:19 a.m. – Constable intervened in a dispute just east of downtown.

5:20 p.m. – Traffic stop resulted in arrest of one person on an outstanding warrant.

7:58 p.m. – Concerned observer reported a suspicious male with a walking stick near US 62. He disappeared before the constable arrived.

August 15

2:24 p.m. – At a motel, there was an altercation. Constables arrived on the scene.

4:30 p.m. – Individual came to the station to report a theft.

August 16

3:29 p.m. – Constable went toward the south part of town for another theft report.

10:06 p.m. – Constables spoke with one person at the scene of a reported disturbance.

August 17

2:27 a.m. – Concerned witness reported possibly suspicious activity, and the constable responded but did not find anything to report.

10:11 a.m. – Downtown shop owner reported vandalism to a window.

10:45 a.m. – Constable fixed a faulty parking meter.

11:17 a.m. – Another shop owner reported vandalism by graffiti.

11:57 a.m. – In the north part of town, Animal Control looked for two unattended dogs cavorting along a road. Their owner received a warning about keeping dogs leashed or penned.

1:25 p.m. – Another dog on the loose, this time on US 62 just west of downtown. Animal Control took it to the kennel.

1:27 p.m. – Constable responded to handle another parking meter issue.

2:52 p.m. – Constable watched for a reportedly erratic driver and initiated a traffic stop, but the driver checked out fine.

5:15 p.m. – Resident asked for a constable to check on possibly suspicious activity, but did not find anything to report.

7:23 p.m. – Constable was told an intoxicated person was at a business, but the constable determined the person was okay.

8:31 p.m. – Constables responded to a location near downtown because of a noise complaint, but no citation was issued.

August 18

12:32 a.m. – Traffic stop resulted in the arrest of one person for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

1:25 a.m. – Constables checked on the welfare of a possibly suicidal female.

9:14 a.m. – Girlfriend told her neighbor she had been assaulted by her boyfriend. Constable spoke with them, and they agreed to go separate directions.

11:35 a.m. – Person reported a theft, but it turned out the responding constable had to resolve a situation between the alleged victim and a neighbor.

12:24 p.m. – Traffic stop resulted in the arrest of the driver for driving on a suspended license.

4:43 p.m. – There was an auto accident on US 62.

6:43 p.m. – Vehicles were parked illegally downtown until just before the constable arrived.

7:03 p.m. – Central dispatch reported a 911 hang-up call from downtown, but the constable found nothing going on.

8:12 p.m. – Someone told ESPD activity near downtown seemed suspicious. The constable checked it out but found nothing unusual going on.

9:10 p.m. – Traffic stop resulted in the arrest of the driver for driving on a suspended license and possession of a controlled substance.

9:12 p.m. – Another 911 hang-up call and the constable found no one in distress or nothing in disarray in the vicinity.

10:57 p.m. – Someone complained about noise at a downtown location.

11:30 p.m. – Constable on patrol came across an individual in the elementary school parking lot and arrested him for possession of a controlled substance- felony and possession of a controlled substance- misdemeanor x2.

August 19

4:34 a.m. – There was a one-vehicle accident on a road in the western part of town.

4:40 a.m. – A residential alarm was triggered but the constable found the building secure.

8:05 a.m. – A couple participated in a disturbance at a church near downtown. They told the constable it had been verbal only and went their separate ways.

8:33 a.m.– Something triggered a commercial burglary alarm at a business on US 62. Constable cleared the building, and the keyholder locked it up.

1:03 p.m. – Individual asked for a constable to stand by while he gathered his things from a residence.

7:17 p.m. – Observer told ESPD someone parked behind a bank on US 62 appeared to be throwing beer cans out of the vehicle. Constable looked for but did not find anything suspicious in that location.
