August 6

11:02 a.m. – Animal Control responded to report of two large dogs cavorting freely and chasing cars in a neighborhood in the west part of town, but the owner had already brought them back into a fenced yard.

11:21 a.m. – Staff at a restaurant complained about ex-employees making threatening phone calls. Constable spoke over the phone with the ex-employees and told them not to return to the property.

1:23 p.m. – Individual reported her purse had been stolen out of her car parked downtown.

1:40 p.m. – There was a two-vehicle accident near the high school. No injuries.

2:14 p.m. – A large vehicle blocked a narrow street downtown. Constable found the owner who relocated the vehicle.

5:03 p.m. – A deputy had stopped a vehicle being driven erratically on US 62 and asked for ESPD backup. The driver was released to EMS for transport to hospital.

10:31 p.m. – Traffic stop resulted in the arrest of the driver for driving on a suspended license, no insurance and possession of drug paraphernalia x 2.

August 7

9:01 a.m. – Resident near downtown claimed his motorcycle had been stolen during the night.

10:25 a.m. – Caller told ESPD someone broke into her vehicle during the night and damaged the ignition switch though nothing was stolen.

1:53 p.m. – Central dispatch reported a victim of domestic violence was being treated at ESH for injuries. Constable went to get a report but the person had already left.

4:21 p.m. – Constables went to a motel to arrest a domestic battery suspect.

7:32 p.m. – Something triggered a residential alarm, but the constable found the place secure.

8:25 p.m. – Observer reported a suspicious vehicle, but it was not there when the constable arrived.

9:25 p.m. – There was an auto accident downtown.

11:31 p.m. – Owner of a downtown building saw three people climb his fire escape, check doors and return to ground level. Constables searched the area but did not find anyone matching the description.

August 8

9:05 a.m. – A deputy brought in a person wanted on an ESPD warrant for failure to appear and failure to pay fines.

12:44 p.m. – Guest at a motel said his vehicle had been broken into and items were taken, plus the surveillance camera in the parking lot had been tampered with. Constable responded to get a report and a copy of the surveillance video.

2:38 p.m. – Transit driver spoke to a constable about escalating incidents involving a downtown shop owner.

3:40 p.m. – Constables followed up on a report of an apparently inebriated individual, but the person was not there when they arrived.

4:07 p.m. – Witness reported individuals who might have been selling drugs. They were gone before the constables got there.

6:50 p.m. – Traffic stop resulted in the arrest of the driver for DWI.

10:30 p.m. – There was another reportedly suspicious situation at a motel, but constable found everything okay.

10:45 p.m. – Concerned observer told ESPD a male was laying in the roadway. He was not there when the constable arrived.

August 9

2:14 a.m. – A husband told ESPD his wife had gone to an event but had not returned. Constable went looking and she was found safe and unharmed.

5:06 a.m. – Caller reported a possible suicide.

8:25 a.m. – A worker reported someone had just stolen several items from a worksite. Constable gathered information and issued a BOLO for the vehicle and equipment.

10:11 a.m. – Constable encountered a person camping on private property and advised her she needed permission to camp there.

11:14 a.m. – Central dispatch asked for agency assistance regarding a dispute between a landlord and people staying in a trailer on the property.

4:15 p.m. – Disturbance at a motel prompted response by constables but they were unable to assist.

4:16 p.m. – Constable responded to an accident on US 62.

6:59 p.m. – Tree limb fell across a street near downtown and Public Works removed it.

9 p.m. – Another hazard was reported on a road in the north part of town, but the constable did not encounter it.

August 10

12:24 p.m. – Guest at a tourist lodging reported her handbag containing important personal items was missing.

4:38 p.m. – Individual came to the station to report threats.

6:26 p.m. – Constable responded to a report of an erratic driver in a neighborhood.

7:26 p.m. – There was a disturbance on Main Street.

8:08 p.m. – Constables searched for but did not encounter a reportedly suspicious person.

8:36 p.m. – ESPD was apprised of a possibly missing person.

9:09 p.m. – Alarm was trumpeting in a vehicle parked on Main Street. Constable responded, and the owner shut it off.

August 11

2:05 a.m. – Constable assisted EMS with an unresponsive intoxicated individual at a motel.

9:58 a.m. – Caller told ESPD her friend’s wallet had been stolen. A constable responded to take a report but the victim was not present. Constable told the friend the victim must make the report.

11:01 a.m. – Constables went to a motel because of a 911 hang-up call from a disconnected cell phone but found nothing to report.

1:19 p.m. – Driver crashed a vehicle in a parking lot along US 62.

1:20 p.m. – Person asked for a constable to come to her location regarding more information about an earlier call.

2:26 p.m. – Vehicle was parked in a No Parking zone near downtown.

3:50 p.m. – Constable went to the scene of an accident on US 62.

5:02 p.m. – Another accident, this time downtown.

August 12

1:45 a.m. – Disturbance was reported at a motel.

1:49 a.m. – Individual was trying to enter a front door in a neighborhood in the south part of town. He told constables he needed medical attention. EMS responded and transported him to ESH.

2:30 a.m. – Person in a parking lot flagged down constables who discovered he was the subject of an outstanding warrant and arrested him.

10:28 a.m. – Central dispatch reported a 911 hang-up call from the vicinity of a motel on US 62. Constables searched the area but found nothing going on.

11:16 a.m. – Burglary alarm sounding at a residence turned out to be a false alarm.

6:10 p.m. – Observer reported a vehicle parked in a No Parking spot downtown, but it was gone before the constable arrived.
