July 23

6:15 p.m. – A traffic stop on Hwy. 23S led to the arrest of a woman for driving on a suspended and no proof of insurance.

9:28 p.m. – County dispatch received several 911 hangup calls from Lake Leatherwood, and responding officers did not locate anyone in distress.

July 24

11:30 a.m. – Contraband was found by an employee outside a bank, officer took possession, no report was filed.

10:52 p.m. – Alarm alerted authorities to a break-in at a restaurant that turned out to be a nothing.

July 25

5:42 a.m. – Dog walker reported hearing gunshots but responding officer heard and saw nothing.

July 26

1:42 a.m. – Two calls reporting a domestic altercation resulted in constable finding a man locked a woman out of the house. The woman explained her side to the constable and when the male refused to open the door she said she’d spend the night in the car.

9:01 a.m. – Caller from a motel reported a disturbance and a male trespasser was dealt with.

3:50 p.m. – A US 62 vehicle accident with no injuries got its paperwork officialized.

4:30 p.m. – A report was filed on a theft of mail charge.

4:35 p.m. – A man was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

7 p.m. – No report was required for a suspicious person on W. Van Buren.

July 27

12:02 a.m. – A traffic stop resulted in the arrest of a man for DWI.

1 a.m. – A disturbance report at an apartment complex on Pivot Rock Rd. turned out to be a couple talking, not disturbing.

4:29 p.m. – Caller sent constable to check on the welfare of a woman who was fine and required no assistance.

6:24 p.m. – Officer checked S. Main for an abandoned vehicle but it wasn’t there.

7:41 p.m. – A report was taken in reference to a stolen dog.

July 28

5:14 a.m. – Constable responded to upper Spring St. about a vehicle in the middle of the road with someone in it sleeping. No report taken.

9:25 a.m. – A deer and a car collided on Pivot Rock Rd.

10:35 a.m. – Officer tried unsuccessfully to reach the owner of an abandoned car left in a church parking lot.

11:20 a.m. – A landlady had evicted a tenant and now there was a note on the door indicating a possible trip wire, but constable deemed the area clear.

9:12 p.m. – Caller reported a loud noise on S. Main that turned out to be a blown tire.

July 29

2:07 p.m. – A male was reported beating on the lobby door of a motel. He was sent on his way.

5:47 p.m. – A man was arrested for hitting his girlfriend and locking her out of the house. He was arrested for domestic battery, theft and outstanding warrants in ES and Carroll County.

7:14 p.m. – A fast food restaurant manager said a needle was found in the parking lot and the fire department handled it.
