July 9

1 p.m. – Constable provided traffic control until a tow truck could move a disabled vehicle off the roadway.

11:21 p.m. – Motel guest was locked out of her room. Constable helped find the manager who let her back into her room.

July 10

6:40 p.m. – Traffic stop resulted in the arrest of an individual on a warrant out of Washington County.

11 p.m. – Concerned observer claimed a driver was repeatedly speeding up and down Spring Street. Constable never encountered the vehicle.

July 11

10:26 a.m. – Central dispatch alerted ESPD to two 911 calls from a disconnected phone somewhere on the east end of US 62. Constable did not find any signs of distress in the vicinity.

4:56 p.m. – Constable moved a dead deer off a street in the south part of town.

8:16 p.m. – Report came in of a disturbance with shots possibly fired in the north part of town. Constable went to the scene and things calmed down.

9:27 p.m. – Person came to the station to ask for a constable to escort her to her house because of harassment from her neighbors. Constables were out on a call at the time, but upon returning one went to her address and spoke with her and a neighbor. She asked for extra patrols in her area for a few weeks.

11:43 p.m. – Apartment dweller heard yelling nearby. Constable checked the area but found nothing to report.

July 12

4:05 a.m. – Resident on the east side of town smelled natural gas and called for a constable. The constable did not smell gas but spotted malodorous trash nearby as a possible source of the smell.

11:33 a.m. – Staff at a shop on Main Street thought a person sitting in a parked vehicle with no open businesses nearby was suspicious. The vehicle was not there when the constable showed up.

11:36 a.m. – While on patrol, a constable encountered a private property accident. Drivers decided to settle things themselves.

12 p.m. – A couple came to the station to report harassing communications.

July 13

12:53 a.m. – Constable downtown checked on the welfare of a person in a parked vehicle.

1:27 a.m. – Constable checked on an injured deer on Hwy. 23 South.

2:29 a.m. – Concerned witness reported a possibly inebriated person on a road in the west part of town. Constable never saw him.

10:27 a.m. – Employee accidentally set off the front door alarm at a business downtown.

2:52 p.m. – Guest at a campground aroused suspicion. Constable determined the guest was okay.

3:25 p.m. – Constable went to check on a suspicious vehicle which was gone before he got there.

4:38 p.m. – There was a minor accident on US 62.

5:02 p.m. – Constables went to the scene of a domestic disturbance and arrested two people on warrants out of Berryville PD.

7:50 p.m. – There was a theft in a parking lot, and constables gathered information.

8:46 p.m. – As a result of a traffic accident in a parking lot, one person was arrested for DWI and implied consent.

8:55 p.m. – Restaurant staff reported a theft.

July 14

8:56 a.m. – Passerby claimed a three-wheel motorcycle downtown was obstructing traffic. The responding constable determined there was no problem.

9:04 a.m. – Clerk at a store advised ESPD there was a person sleeping on the property and asked for the person to be placed on a criminal trespass log. Constable asked the individual to leave the premises and not return.

11:15 a.m. – Care facility asked for a constable for a theft report.

12:21 p.m. – Motorist claimed a stalled truck was blocking traffic on US 62. The truck driver told the constable he was tired and just pulled over. No report.

7:21 p.m. – Constable on patrol downtown arrested an individual for possession of a controlled substance.

11:26 p.m. – Bar manager told the constable two 911 hang-up calls had been accidental.

July 15

4:27 a.m. – A brother was concerned for his sister’s safety. Constable responded and the sister and her husband separated for the night.

10:52 a.m. – Staff at another motel reported a theft.

2:00 p.m. – Person came to the station to report a theft.

2:18 p.m. – Another 911 call from a disconnected phone, and the constable checked but found no signs of distress.

3:41 p.m. – Individual returned to her car, shut the door and a window shattered. She asked a constable if maybe the window had been shot. Constable said something might have fallen on it but it did not appear to have been shot.

5:03 p.m. – Dog was barking in a parked car with the windows barely cracked. Constable found the owners and gave them a warning.

6:35 p.m. – Traffic stop resulted in the arrest of the driver for driving on a suspended license and the arrest of a passenger on a warrant out of Huntsville PD.

9:22 p.m. – Witness alerted ESPD to a possibly intoxicated driver headed to town. A constable performed a traffic stop as the vehicle left a business and arrested the driver for DWI.

11:24 p.m. – Constable performed a welfare check on a motel guest whom he determined was okay.

July 16

12:19 a.m. – While on patrol, a constable arrested a person for public intoxication and on an ESPD warrant.

12:46 a.m. – Motel manager and a guest had a dispute, and a constable helped them settle it.
