May 21

10:40 a.m. – Someone stole a lawn chair from the porch of a business.

11:58 a.m. – Customer claimed her wallet had been taken while she was at a restaurant.

8:56 p.m. – Constable watched for but did not encounter a reportedly intoxicated driver in a black Subaru headed toward town.

May 22

2:12 a.m. – Constable spoke with a motel guest about suspicious circumstances.

May 23

12:45 a.m. – Individuals in a parked vehicle near a business on US 62 were being suspicious enough to prompt a call to ESPD. Constable responded but the vehicle was already gone.

9:04 a.m. – Resident said her gardener saw something fishy going on in the neighborhood. Constables added patrols to the area.

9:59 a.m. – Individual was having a disagreement with the caretaker at the cemetery about a gravestone. Caller was already gone when a constable arrived, but the constable called him back to get more information.

10:16 a.m. – Vehicle had been parked in a neighborhood for more than a week. Constable determined it was parked legally but would be red-tagged if not moved according to city ordinance.

10:19 a.m. – There was a bump-up in a parking lot.

11:57 a.m. – Constable provided traffic control until a roofing truck parked on a tight street could unload and move out of the way.

7:25 p.m. – Constable responding to an apparently abandoned vehicle was told by its owner it had a bad transmission and would be moved as soon as possible.

11:59 p.m. – As the result of a domestic disturbance at an RV park, constables arrested a woman for third degree domestic battery.

May 24

12:01 a.m. – While performing a welfare check, constable discovered an inebriated person who said she wanted to harm herself. EMS transported her to ESH.

3:45 p.m. – Constable on patrol recognized a person with an outstanding warrant and arrested him.

4:36 p.m. – Central dispatch reported a 911 hang-up call, but the constable found nothing going on.

5:13 p.m. – Transformer blew up prompting someone nearby to report a suspicious noise. Constable called the utility company.

May 25

7:10 a.m. – Constable responded to a vehicle fire.

May 26

12:27 a.m. – Concerned observer requested a welfare check on someone. Constable encountered an intoxicated person who said she did not feel well. EMS also responded.

4:29 a.m. – Constable assisted a female walking on a road in the western part of town get back to her motel room.

7:56 a.m. – Individual was asleep in a neighborhood just east of downtown. Constable woke up the person with information about city ordinances prohibiting sleeping in public.

8:17 a.m. – Constable followed up on a dog complaint, but the owner of the animal was not around. Information was passed along to Animal Control.

11:23 a.m. – There was a minor traffic accident on US 62 in the commercial area.

1:06 p.m. – Guests at a tourist lodging were loud enough to prompt a noise complaint. They told the constable they would moderate their music.

5:45 p.m. – Complaint came in about a dog left in a car, but constable found the car was in the shade and windows were down.

6:48 p.m. – Constable filed a report of a theft at a liquor store.

8:25 p.m. – Vehicle had been parked in the same spot for a few days. Constable found the owner who re-parked it.

May 27

12:05 a.m. – Individual was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

3:40 a.m. – Downtown bar staff reported a possible theft.

8:35 a.m. – Person was camped out in a vehicle parked near downtown. Constable issued a warning.

11:03 a.m. – Constable issued a citation for a vehicle illegally parked downtown.

11:26 a.m. – Constable had to provide traffic control at the US 62 – Hwy. 23 South intersection.

6:47 p.m. – Because of a noise complaint, constable checked the noise level at a bar.

7:41 p.m. – One more time the constable checked the noise level and found it within legal limits.

8:49 p.m. – Individual filed a report because his briefcase was missing.

8:53 p.m. – Ex-girlfriend had a discussion with a constable about her ex-boyfriend.

10:35 p.m. – Constable checked on a tourist lodging to see what triggered the alarm.

11:04 p.m. – Someone complained about noise downtown.

May 28

12:02 a.m. – Traffic stop resulted in the arrest of the driver for DWI, refusal to submit/implied consent, careless driving/speeding, no motorcycle endorsement and no proof of insurance.
